I just received some great news that my music video for Let’s Be Honest was nominated as part of the Freshmen 5 on MTVu’s show, The Freshmen. The show spotlights emerging artists on air and online, with the chance for one of the videos to get an automatic add into rotation on the channel the following week. Fans can vote on these videos online, starting Monday, December 14, 2009, and votes will end on Friday at 2:00 PM (EST) and be tabulated. Please feel free to spread the word and get other people to vote for the video. You may vote as many times as you like by refreshing the page. Let’s win this thing and chalk up another victory for good hip hop music that NEEDS to be heard!
“Let’s Be Honest” was produced by Veterano and the music video was directed by Matt Koza with actress Tashea Lowery costarring. This is another great opportunity and I’d like to ask for your support.
It’s officially here… the music video for the first single, Let’s Be Honest. The song was produced by Veterano. The video was directed by Matt Koza and shot on location in Philadelphia (Malcolm X Park). I wanted to post it earlier but I was on the road doing shows so I couldn’t post it on Friday as planned. Thanks to Matt Koza and the entire crew who helped out with everything and made it a great experience. Also, Shout out to Tashea Lowery who played wifey in the video. NO…that’s not my real wife but YES that is the diamond ring that I bought her…lol. Thanks to Audible Treats and Onsmash.com for spreading the word. Enjoy!
And so it begins… Here is the first official single, Let’s Be Honest, off of my new album, Splitting Image. The song was produced by Veterano who has done work with me on past releases. We are actually working on a few things together right now but that’s on the low-low. I’m very proud of this song and it was probably a hands down favorite among the people who have heard the album so far. The song was inspired by a quote that I read once which said ‘happiness isn’t having what you want, it’s wanting what you have.’ That’s my perspective in life on everything from family to my career. It’s not settling, but sometimes you gotta just accept that maybe it wasn’t meant for you to have what everyone else has… It’s cool to dream but not to the point where you don’t take notice of how good you have it already to just be alive. You might look at someone’s house and say “I need a place like that”. A man with a good woman might look at another woman and say “I need a woman like that in my life”. Appreciate what you have now and you’ll appreciate what comes to you later in life a lot more. I can testify to that. I had to learn that lesson myself the hard way. Enjoy….and please leave me some feedback on the single. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Kam Moye’s Splitting Image in stores OCTOBER 27, 2009.
Also, I just started a Facebook band page. All you have to do it go to Facebook and search “Kam Moye, Supastition” and there you have it. And yes I run it myself with help from the lovely Mrs Moye.
